
Gillian Blaney Shorte, Director of Art
Gillian always felt she was getting more than pure arts & craft skills out
of art education. She was lucky to have a number of passionate & energetic
teachers and tutors. Although she experimented with many forms of art and design,
Gillian was always drawn towards teaching art. She embodies the passion, planning
encouragement and fun required to teach last.Artzone was established in 2003 to help encourage students to use art as a means of self expression, problem solving & to have fun with Art.
Gillian brings the critical creative flair, commitment to constant curriculum innovation & design along with real teaching experience to Artzone. Gillian sets the highest standards in all core artistic planning, design and teaching activities in the business.
Gillian is also a mother of three. Oldest daughter Emily (14), has won many formal & informal art competitions, now assists teachers at every opportunity in regular Art classes & Camps. Younger Daughter, Caoimhe(5Years), attends 3-4 Classes per week & likes nothing better than to work in the Art studio while teachers plan& design for classes & camps. Son Oisin ( 18 Months) has a general interest in all things art, weather it is playing with or trying to eat new materials.
