  1. Eimear O Reilly says:

Hi Could you tell me if the art camps are suitable for a 13 year old that your running in the Riverbank in Newbridge in the summer thanks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Eimear, We dont have a teenage camp as such in Newbridge or Naas. The closest teen camp is in The RUA RED Art Centre in Tallaght. If your child is still in Primary School the camps in Newbridge or Naas would still suit them. Regards,
      Paul

  2. Helena Bermingham says:

Hi, i am interested in sending my 8 year old daughter to an art camp, but im living in Thurles Co. Tipperary. Do ye come as far down as us? or could you recommend someone to me? Thanks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Sorry Helena,

We currently only operate in Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow. We are working on a franchise model at the moment and hope to trial two franchise areas early next year. Paul

  3. Marina GIblin says:

    Hi there
My daughter is 5 and starting school in Sept, she has some special needs and may require assistance getting to her seat, taking off her coat etc. I am wondering if you have the capacity in your summer camp Week 2 3rd – 6th August to deal with these issues as she loves Art.
If so could you send me details of times and costs associated with it?
    Thanking you in advance
    Marina

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Marina. We have availability at that camp. Just give us a quick call to discuss your daughters needs. Every child is different. I am sure we can sort out some arrangements. Camp times are 10am to 2pm each day. Paul

  4. Caroline Dooley says:

    Hi,

My 13 year old daughter and her 15 year old friend did your Philip Tracy inspired camp in Taney last year and would like to go again this year. Could you please let me know if you have places in Taney in August and what Rumble in the Jungle involves?

    Many thanks

    Caroline Dooley

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Hi Caroline,

Only the teen camp which is a ‘Band Lauch’ graphic design camp on the 12th of July would suit your daughter and her friend. It is a really cool camp designed by one of our fulltime teachers, Louise, who is our Graphic Design Specialist. Regards, Paul

  5. fred says:

    hi,
i have a 6 yr old daughter going to first class on sept. she loves art, i was wondering if you still have a slot for summer class in lucan.

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Fred. There is literally one place left in Lucan for the summer camp. I will hold that place for you. Not everyone is paid so there will most likely be more places coming free. Regards, Paul

  6. Sinéad Ward says:

    Hi there,

Just wondering are all elements of art….drawing, painting, 3d clay, textilee etc covered on the summer camp weeks? My nephew is nearly 12 years of age and enjoys working with clay very much.

And is there availability left on the summer camp in Taney, Dundrum from the 12th – 16th of July or the 26th – 30th July?

    Thks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Sinead. We design new portfolios every season. The portfolio for the senior group (8 – 12 years) is music mania this July. It is a really cool portfolio for that age group including puppetry, still life, cd design and pop star collage. Regards, Paul

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

All our camps cover a range of art and craft activities. The Juniors (5 – 7 years) will take on 7 – 10 mini projects. The Seniors take on 4 – 5 larger projects and the teens immerse themselves in one major project over a week.

The Senior Rumble in the Jungle includes an intricate Clay piece, still life painting, observational drawing and relief collage.

Give us a quick call to discuss the detail. Paul

  7. Karen Dunne says:

    Hi

My 2 daughtyers 11 & 13, might be interested in your camp in Leixlip 12th – 16th July. Is there any availability for this week.

    Many Thanks

    Karen Dunne

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Hi Karen,

There are places available in our Senior Group in Leixlip for the July Camp. The portfolio is based on a Music Mania theme with Puppetry, Still Life Painting, Life drawing and CD Design.

      Regards,
      Paul

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

There are places in this camp, and most of the others in July. August camps seem to have booked quicker this year. Give us a quick call to register or book online anytime. Thanks Paul

        • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Barbara, There are just a few places left in the Clontarf August Camp. The ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ portfolio is proving really popular. Book online or just give us a quick call to secure your places. Paul

  9. melanie Hayes says:

How strict are the age limits.? my daughter is 5 in December
But is starting school in Sept. we are interested in Rathfarnham camp
    Thanks, melanie

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Melanie, Our age bands are a guide rather than hard and fast rules. If your child is ready for school in September then they should be ok in a summer camp. The junior portfolio will suit Junior Infants to 1st Class. They have a variety of art projects and plenty of time for stories, snacks and organised games. Regards, Paul

  10. audrey says:

Do you have a place for a 5yr old in Naas for the July week?

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Audrey, There are a number of places left in the junior group at St Marys College, Naas. You can book online anytime, just give us a quick call to complete the registration process. Best regards, Paul

  11. Philippa says:

Do you have 3 spaces in the junior group at Taney for 9-13 Aug?

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Hi Philippa,

There are indeed places in the Taney August camp. They will be working on a really cool ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ portfolio.
You can book places online anytime or give us a quick call to complete the registration process. Best regards, Paul

  12. Joe says:

What are the daily times for the Junior summer camp in Killester please?

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Joe, All our camps run 10am – 2pm each day. There are early drop facilities in Dundrum, Castleknock and Malahide. Killester is really popular. No pressure but you would really need to book soon to get a place. Regards, Paul

  13. alison says:

Where is the phone number to contact you ? I have a couple of queries re the class in Taney next week for the week of July 26th ? Can you email me a contact number please ?

  14. Eamonn Murray says:

Are there any places for a 14yr old in Castleknock centre 19-23rd July.

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Hi Eamonn,

I am afraid that camp in Castleknock is geared for primary school children (5 – 12 years). We do have a teenage camp in The Red Stables Art Centre, Raheny starting on the 16th of August. Otherwise we are starting a teenage art group in Castleknock Parish Centre on Friday afternoons (4.45 – 6.00 pm) on Friday 17th of September. This will be a really good art programme working on 10 week projects with one of our Qualified Art Teachers. The projects are approached like Junior or Leaving Cert Projects but with a lot more fun and freedom to explore. Best regards, Paul

  15. Yunmi Hong says:

    Hello
I would like my children to take part in your summer program which starts 9th August in Taney.

Is it possible that foreign child joins with? If possible, are they able to be together in a same class?(I am not sure yet for this whether it is good for them or not. Please tell me which way is better for them to get intergrated to other kids.)
Actually, two children, 7 and 10 years old girls, are from South Korea, have learned English for a few years so that they might be able to cope with other kids, eventhough it is not very fluent. And they are comming to dublin just before begining of the camp.
Please reply and let me know about it.

    With kind regards

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

We get a lot of non-Irish children at the art camps. The activities are very visual with lots of visual aids and support studies. Many students produce fabulous art with little or no English. The girls would be in the same hall, but would be in separate age groups (5-7 years & 8-12 years). You could keep them together for the first day if you wish. Regards,
      Paul

  16. Emer Hyland says:

    Hi,

I am checking availability for your 9th August summer camp at Taney. My daughter is 5. Can you tell me a little bit about the camp and how many are in each group?

    Kind regards,

    Emer

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Emer, The august camp in Taney is designed around the Rumble in the Jungle portfolio including clay work, fabric bag design, painting, ink resists etc for the junior group camp. The children will have two breaks each day which will include Jungle stories and organized games. There will be between 15 and 25 in each group. We maintain a 10:1 pupil teacher ratio and all camps are run to tried and tested processes and policies. Regards, Paul

  17. How strict are the age limits.? my daughter is 5 in December
But is starting school in Sept. we are interested in Rathfarnham camp
    Thanks, melanie

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Melanie, The age groups are just a guide, but a four hour day camp can be tough on younger ones if they are not used to the structure of school. You could probably try her out in the July/ August Summer Camps. Regards,
      Paul

  18. Ana says:

Hi, We are a spanish family looking for a half day summer camp in Ireland for our daughters of 8 and 11 years old. The whole family will travel to Ireland (somewhere near Dublin) the last week of July and two first weeks of August. They learn English at school but they don´t have a good level in English. We would be pleased if the could enjoy their time with other Irish children. I friend of us told us about your camps, this is why we are contacting you. Please let us know if our children could assist to any of your summer camps. Thank you very much for your attention. Best regards. Ana

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Ana, We get a lot of Spanish visitors to our summer camps. All activities are supported by visual aids and support studies, so language is not a major problem. Let me know where you are staying and I will recommend a local art camp for you. Best regards, Paul

  19. Emma says:

    Hi,
Will you be running a Summer Camp in Donabate?
    Thanks,
    Emma

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Emma, We have tried to run summer camps in Donabate for the past two years, but we havent got the numbers. I am afraid we cant afford to try again this summer. Maybe when things pick up. Sincere Apologies, Paul

  20. Adele says:

Hi, I wondered if there was any chance of any summer camps in Offaly, preferably Edenderry, Tullamore at a push? My son is really into art and wants to go to an art camp in the summer, but these are too far away. Or, any chance of early drop off, say around 8am, in Newbridge as hubby works there and could bring him in?
    Thanks

  21. Julie says:

    Hi Gillian and Paul,
It’s Julie (Carol’s sister). I’ve just seen that you already have a lot of bookings for the Summer and I was thinking of enroling Alanna for Ballyroan in July. She’s 7 so I suppose she’d be in the 5-7 group. Anyway I haven’t booked my flight yet but I was worried that there may not be any places left. Are there?? If so, could you book her a place? Please let me know.
    Thanks a lot….Julie
P.S. She’s still talking about the camp from two Summers ago, she really loved it!

  22. Mercedes says:

Hello, My son is Spanish and as Ana, we are also interested in your camp. We will go to Dublin. Which artzone summer camp would you recommend us?
Is there any chance you could tell Ana, the other Spanish woman, if she wants to keep in contact with me, giving her my mail. Thank you very much.
    Mercedes

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Mercedes. Just let me know when you are coming to Dublin and where you are staying. I will recommend some summer camps for you. I will pass your email onto Ana. Regards, Paul

  23. Maire says:

    hi
i was wondering if there are any teachers or assistants required for the summer camps.
I am qualifying in June with B.Ed and would love to participate and work with pupils in this camp.
any information would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you

  24. Carol says:

    Hi there,
Just wanted to check if there will be a summer camp taking place in St. Brigid’s Parish hall,Killester this year?
    Thanks,
    Carol.

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Carol, While Killester is a great class venue for us it was difficult to run a 5 day camp out of such a busy centre. This year we are running two camps in Clontarf Parish Centre and one in Na Fianna, Glasnevin. I hope this suits you. Regards, Paul

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Just bring him along on Monday Stephanie. Louise will look after you. Regards, Paul

  25. Fíona says:

Hi, are you just providing one week in Naas or are there more details to follow? Thanks, Fíona

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Fiona, I am afraid we only have one week in Naas. In the past when we ran two camps we didnt get the numbers to run two good camps. Without a critical mass the camps arent as lively and fun for the kids. We do have two camps in Newbridge and two in Leixlip. Regards, Paul

  26. Nicola Henry says:

Hi my daughter and her friend 6 and 8 yrs old are interested in the Leixlip camp in July 11th-15th are there any places available ? and if so can you hold 2 places please? both are very into art and would love it- thanks, I did ‘nt realise places went so fast.
    Regards , Nicola

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

No panic Nicola. there are still places in the Leixlip July camp. Just complete the booking form online, give us a quick call on 01 4990614 or email me names, ages, addresses and two contact numbers and I will secure the places for you. Best regards, Paul

  27. Karla says:

How do I book a place for summer camp in Rua Red??

  28. Del says:

    Hi there

Just wanted to enquire about places for two 6 year old boys for the Greystones camp, starting July 18th? Could you also let me know what the student teacher ratio is?
    Regards
    Del

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Del, There are places in the Junior Group for two 6 year olds. We maintain a teacher: pupil ratio of between 10 and 12:1, biased towards the younger group. All our teachers are qualified and experienced teachers. They work to a tried and trusted set of policies and processes If you have any further queries dont hesitate to contact me at info@artzone.ie. Paul

  29. Mary says:

Have a 13 year old and a 9 year old and was wondering if you will be running any camps in Blackrock this summer. I don’t see it listed this year. If so could you let me know what dates are available.

    Many thanks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Unfortunately the venue in Blackrock let us down for our July camps so we are running two camps in Glenageary instead. We also have a camp in Stillorgan and three camps in Dundrum if they are any use to you. We are talking to a new Blackrock venue for next year. Regards, Paul

  30. Teresa says:

Hi, My daughter will be 5 in sept and will also be starting school in sept. Would she be eligable to attend the ballyroan camp (with her older sister 8) in july. ?
    Regards
    Teresa

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Teresa, We do take school starters in the summer camps once their parents believe they’re ready for it. The fact she would be attending with a sibling is a good thing. We structure the day like a school day with little break and lunch break including stories and organised games. Regards, Paul

  31. Pat Wall says:

    Hi,

I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old, girls. What kind of activities are done at the Leixlip summer camp and would it be suitable for kids this age. The 4 year old has been in play school and the 6 year old is just finishing Junior infants and is very into crafts.

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Pat, The camps are designed and run for children of school going age. Your younger daughter would need to be around 4.5years (starting school in September). We structure the camp like a school day with little break and lunch break for snacks, stories and games. Our pupil:teacher ratio is 10:1 for the younger group. Give us a call in the office 01 4990614 if you wish to discuss. Regards, Paul

  32. stephanie duffy says:

    Hi,
I have a 9 year old girl who would love to participate in one of your summer camps. Are you still holding camps in Booterstown?? I live in Foxrock!

Are the camps suitable for 3 year old boy ?

  34. Pauline says:

  35. Kumi says:

    Hi,

I have a 10 year old girl who moved into Ireland from Japan recentry, and she would love to participate in one of your summer camps. Do you still have a place for her in Dundrum venue starting 8 August?

  36. Mary Ann Williams says:

Could you please reserve a place for Patrick Ryan at your camp at Taney Parish Hall, the week of 8 August?

    Many thanks–Mary Ann Williams

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

No Problem Mary Ann. We have booked that place for you. We have a really cool portfolio based on a Trip round Europe lined up for August. Check your email for booking confirmation. Regards, Paul

  37. Paula Coghlan says:

Are there any places left for the Malahide camp starting August 2nd? What time does the class start? I have a 9yr old and a 6(nearly 7) yr old interested.

    Many thanks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Paula. There are places in both groups for the camp next week in Malahide. The camps are from 10am – 2pm each day. There are early drop off and after hours facilities in the centre with Kandoo. Sorry I missed your message – we are mad busy switching from the July to August portfolios.
