Dec 2012 – Isobel Golden, Artzone Mount Anville, wins Heinz Christmas Card Competition

Congratulations to Isobel Golden, Artzone Mount Anville, who was the overall winner from over 1,000 entries for the Heinz UK & Ireland Christmas Card Competition!

The theme was a Heinz Christmas scene.  As Isabel’s youngest sister Holly spent almost 6 months in Crumlin last year, Isabel nominated the ward where Holly resided during that time as the beneficiary of the £500 prize.

10th Jan ’13 Artzone Notice – Texaco Art Competition

Many Artzone students have won prizes in the Texaco Art Competition over the years.  As art teachers we feel that it is important for children to prepare for and enter art competitions.  The Texaco Children’s Art Competition is the biggest in Ireland!

Categories:

Young Adults: Children:
Category A: 16 – 18 years Category D: 9 – 11 years
Category B: 14 – 15 years Category E: 7 – 8 years
Category C: 12 – 13 years Category F: 6 & under
Special Needs Category G : Up to 18 years

Artzone will take entries at class up to Friday 9th February.  You can enter a piece you have created in class, school or at home. Artzone will certify the entries as being original and unaided work.

Your Artzone teacher will be happy to discuss any aspect of your work after your weekly art class. Wishing you the best of luck!   We look forward to seeing your work.

Each entry should be no smaller than A4 (29.7cm x 21cm) or larger than A2 (59cm x 42cm), even if mounted. A2 is probably the best size for your entry. Each Student can submit up to two pieces.  Do not roll, fold or frame your entry

4th Jan 2013 Artzone Teachers Complete Paediatric First Aid Course

Thanks to Lorraine of Life Aiders (www.lifeaiders.com) for a fabulous Paediatric First Aid Course at Artzone Studios last Thursday and Friday.
It was a great opportunity for the teachers to get up to date with First Aid practices, and discuss the most likely first aid scenarios for art classes or camps.
While it was serious and practical we managed to have a laugh along the the way – this poor dummy is about to be CPR’d by Paul

03 Jan 2013 – Artzone Portfolio Preparation Course Extended

While the deadline for NCAD 2013 Portfolio submissions is looming – 3rd February Artzone will continue our Saturday morning portfolio preparation classes for at least another 8-week session from February 2nd.

These classes will cater for students applying to other art colleges in 2013; or for 5th Year students developing portfolios for 2014.
