L1 – Juniors 5-7 years

Artzone Junior classes are focused on 5-7 year old boys and girls. Classes are above all fun, instructive and encouraging. We promote friendship, skills development and confidence building with our junior crew. We take children from 4.5 years once they have started primary school.

My Little boy (almost 5) attended the Greystones Artzone for 3 weeks (on a living social deal) and he absolutely loved it; kept asking me every day ‘how long until Monday?’! I thought initially he might be too young, but he is so enthusiastic about it. It’s great for confidence building,as well as creativity, and he seems to get alot out of it. We will be coming back!

    Hi,

my daughter loves to draw and i feel this would be a good thing for her to get into. Is this on every thursday in lucan? how many weeks for €110 is it. She is now 5 when can i enrol her?

    Thank You

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

You can enrol her anytime. Classes start back in all venues from Saturday 11th September 2010. €110 covers tuition and all art equipment for the full 10 week term. Regards,
      Paul

  2. Ciara says:

Hi, do you also do crafts in the classes or is it just art? My 6 year old loves crafts and would be interested in Drumcondra. thanks, Ciara

  3. eimear says:

hi , my daughter is 4 but has started primary school and she enjoys paint and crafts , my son has done classes and camp with you , is she too young?
    eimear

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Eimear. The age for Artzone classes (5 – 7 years) is just a guide. We take children once they have started primary school. The junior portfolio is based on the Visual Art Curriculum for Junior Infants to 2nd Class. Regards, Paul

  4. Elaine says:

    Hi,
My daughter turned 8 last October and loves doing art and craft stuff. I was wondering if the 8 -12 year class would be too advanced for her and if so would she be able to join the younger age class?
Also, are there any places left for the Lucan classes on Thursdays?
    Regards,
    Elaine

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Elaine, First of all there are places in the Lucan class. We have children of all abilities in the classes and the senior class is the right class for her. The Junior Classes are a good preparation for the Senior (8 – 12 years) classes but are not essential. If you wish to build her confidence your daughter could start out in the Junior class for a couple of weeks. Either way the teachers will make sure she is settling in and in the most appropriate class. Best regards, Paul

  8. Caitrona says:

Hi, I have a 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter, My son loves to draw in cartoon style and suffers great frustration with his drawings often saying that they are rubbish when I think they are quite good for his age, they are always accompanied by bubbles of text, like cartoons. I was wondering if this type of class would suit him? He has never been interested in colouring books or structured work and often won’t finsih structured art projects in school but he draws and writes all the time at home.
My daughter loves to draw and colour and loves to do crafts, making masks using, beads, clay ect but I’m not arty and am running out of ideas to inspire her.
Malahide would be the closest venue to us, but the children don’t finish school untill 2.30pm and are involved in other after school activities so Friday would best suit. You opinion is much appreciated as to whether your classes would suit them and what availability you might have or if a camp is the way to start out with them. Thanks.

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Caitriona. Our teachers are all qualified art teachers so the develop comprehensive and attractive portfolios for the classes and camps. We have a second class on Fridays at Malahide at 2.40 (if you can make it). Otherwise we run a Saturday morning class at 11am in the same venue in Malahide. We would be happy to offer a free trial for both children so they can experience first hand. It will definitely suit your daughter. The curriculum approach might not suit your son, but try it … Paul

  9. Debbie says:

Do you have public classes running in Maynooth? Thanks

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

Hi Debbie. We have just agreed plans for a completely new venue in Maynooth Educate Together School this September. We are running a free trial this Monday at 2.15pm. If that doent suit just send us your child’s details and we will book you for a trial in any of the three classes in September. Best regards, Paul

could you let me know when the new term is commencing for the Saturday classes ( rathfarnham)

Also are there places left in the Leixlip summer camps or are there any maynooth camps?

    Christine

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

There are lots of places Christine. This is a completely new venue for us. We are running a free trial this Monday at 2.15pm. If not send us your child’s details and we will book you for a trial in either class in September. Best regards, Paul

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

A lot of our students from Clare Hall would go to the saturday class in Malahide. We have a very good team there from 11 – 12 every saturday. The next nearest classes would be Killester on Tuesdays (4.30pm) or Raheny Thursdays (3pm or 4.15pm). We are taking bookings now for September 2011. http://www.artzone.ie/bookings or call 014990614. Cheers, Paul

    • Paul.Shorte@artzone.ie says:

      Hi Milita,
