Children’s Out of School Classes

Artzone run may high quality children’s art classes in community centres, parish centres and clubs across the city, open to students from all schools.  The Classes typically split in Juniors (5-7 years); Seniors (8 – 12 years) and Teens (13+);

Class Groups

We keep children together in their age groups wherever possible.  We research and develop two new themed, age-appropriate and progressive portfolios every term for class groups in public venues:-

  • Juniors – 5 – 7  year old students
  • Seniors – 8 – 12 year old students

This model may vary in venues depending on availability of rooms, space or class sizes.  See Public Venues, Days and Times for both groups below.

Artzone Junior Classes:

Junior Classes are suitable for all early primary school (5-7 years) pupils, both boys and girls. Classes are above all fun, instructive and encouraging. We promote friendship, skills development and confidence building with our junior crew. Artzone Teachers are all qualified Art Teachers, working to a structured curriculum, producing new and exciting portfolios every term.

‘Pet Shop’ is the cool and challenging theme for the Spring Term 3 portfolio Juniors. New students accepted throughout the term (subject to availability)

Artzone was recommended for my daughter who needed to work on her motor coordination skills.  Within weeks her two brothers were begging to join – the teachers are so welcoming and the projects are ‘so cool’ (their words, not mine!).  It is the one activity, every week, they all look forwards to.  It has changed my attitude to Art.

Artzone Senior Classes:

Once our juniors master the basic art concepts, skills and media, and have built their confidence they move on to the Senior Group, designed for 8 – 12 year olds.   The senior group engage in a more in-depth exploration of various art techniques, taking a mini-project approach. They learn more about colour, shape, texture, painting styles, and a variety of drawing techniques. Classes are still fun, with more freedom, and more focused on individual flair, design and creativity.

‘Bugs Life’ is the cool and challenging theme for Term 3 portfolio. This is a perfect time for new students to join – accepted throughout the term subject to availability!

“Cant say enough good things about the Artzone Classes .. had my daughters in after school classes but Artzone is light years ahead … a real art education!!!”

      Hi Niamh, Our Junior Classes (5-7 years) are for kids like your daughter. Our qualified teachers design age-appropriate portfolios based on the Primary School Visual Arts Curriculum, but the individual projects are designed to be fun, teaching and re-enforcing the basic skills, techniques over time. You will find details of our public classes in Swords, Malahide, Glasnevin and Clontarf on our website http://www.artzone.ie/classes/out-of-school-childrens-classes/. The new terms start back from Thursday 8th of September. Best regards, Paul
